What Would You Do If You Won The “BIG ONE” On The Lottery?
What a question eh! What a thought.
I bet there is very few of us that hasn’t thought about that at some time or another. But what would we really do if we won a million or two (or more), on the UK National or Euromillions Lotteries, how about if we even had a free way to play the lottery, would that make it even sweeter.
Would you look after your family and friends, or keep all the money for yourself? Would you even tell anyone that you had won or just keep it quiet. How do you think it would affect your life? How would you actually feel? Would you still play the Lottery or Euromillions?
You really would be playing for FREE then, wouldn’t you? Or would you, it’s still your money you are playing with isn’t it? How much would you spend each week on the lottery if you had already won it,
£5-00, £10-00, £50-00, £1000-00, or would you still be looking for a way to play for FREE.
What would you buy? Houses, cars, boats, jewellery, designer clothes, holidays and cruises.
Would you give it all away to charity or just invest it for the future and live off the interest.
What would you really do if YOU won the National Lottery or Euromillions?
See how the questions still keep stacking up, even when you have won the lottery and become rich beyond your wildest dreams.
Could it ever happen? Of course it could.
Will it ever happen? Who knows. It is possible but is it likely, again, who knows. The answer to that question remains entirely in the lap of the gods, or more exactly, in the odds, and they are currently about 1 in 14 MILLION.
Many people fantasise about winning the Lottery or Euromillions, whichever they play, and see it as their ticket out of the rat-race. Their passport to a life of freedom and never wanting for anything ever again, but is it really like that? Is that what lottery jackpot winners really find?
Surprisingly, according to the research that has been done on past lottery winners, they find that being the sudden winner of such a large amount of cash as a lottery jackpot brings a lot of problems and disappointment. It seems that money really doesn’t buy happiness. In fact a sizeable amount of big-time winners actually downsize their homes and cars back to something more like they had before they won, with quite a number of them actually returning to some sort of work, and not because they have spent all their money either.
It seems that we can, and do, plan in quite some detail what we would spend our lottery winnings on, but fail to realise that we will have loads of time on our hands too, and you can only take so many holidays before you get bored with them. Not only do we have loads of spare time but we have no-one to spend that time with because all of our friends didn’t win the Euromillions or National lottery, they still have to go to work like all the other “normal” people. Anyway, they weren’t the one’s who moved away to the flashy house in the posh area, (see, the jealousy starts to creep in too!).
No, it seems winning a huge amount of money on the lottery is not going to solve all of our problems.
But Why?
Well, the best reason I have seen so far is quite simply, PURPOSE.
We all need a purpose in life and most peoples “purpose” is to pay all the bills and have some little luxuries in life. Something like a holiday abroad or a new car, that sort of thing. Something that makes it worthwhile planning and looking forward to, a sense of achievement when we get it.
And when we get it, what do we do. We feel really good about ourselves because we planned and achieved our purpose. Yes we feel good, for a while and then we feel the need to find a new purpose, to plan for the next big, or new thing. Because we want, no need, that feeling of having achieved our purpose. That’s where the Lottery or Euromillions can spoil it all. But Why?
Why? Because we now have no purpose. We can buy whatever we wish, when we wish, so the buzz, the rush of achieving our purpose by planning and saving is no longer there. If we want it we just go get it, and then what happens. The lottery winners buzz from buying like this doesn’t last very long so, we buy some more and then again. This can go on until we either run out of money or, more likely, start to yearn for something more akin to our former life, our pre-lottery or Euromillions winners life.
What are we really wanting back into our life? A PURPOSE.
That’s often why previous lottery winners go back to work of some sort, or start an enterprise of their own. To gain back that purpose, that little bit of normality that makes our lives work.
Do you think you still know what you would do if you won the National Lottery or Euromillions Jackpot?
Wold you still have a purpose that would keep you going?
How about combining winning the Euromillions or National lotteries with playing them for FREE. Building yourself an additional income from the lotteries, just in case you didn’t win. How about that for a purpose and covering all the bases, win the jackpot or make a substantial second income from trying. That wouldn’t be too bad would it?
